Yoon Doo Joon shed tears after watching TWICE Mina’s rhythmic gymnastics performance in the past.
This year’s Idol Star Athletics Championships looked back on its 12-year history by gathering the highlight of some of the best matches. And on this day, legendary performances for rhythmic gymnastics, Idol Star Athletics Championships‘ most popular event, was released.
In 2016, WJSN’s Cheng Xiao was crowned the first champion with an impeccable performance. The same year, TWICE’s Mina, who majored in ballet for 11 years, competed with her elegance as her strong point. However, Mina made a series of unexpected mistakes, and after the performances, she shed tears of regret.
Four months later, Mina challenged rhythmic gymnastics once again. At the time, she shared, “I’ll enjoy it so that I won’t leave behind any regrets. This time, I won’t cry.” And as if to make up for her past mistakes, Mina took home t eh gold medal and shared the joy with TWICE members.
After the video ended, MC Jeon Hyun Moo gently brought up, “Yoon Doo Joon shed tears.” In response, Yoon Doo Joon said, “I shed tears while watching Mina. She has put in a lot of effort. It was awesome to see her work so hard for the performance that only lasts for a few minutes.”
Hearing his words, Oh My Girl’s Seunghee added, “All the members participated in ISAC, so if one of them makes a mistake, even I get nervous and hold my breath as if I was the one who made a mistake. I always think, ‘I want to end this game without regret,’ because we have to practice for the games and continue our promotions as a singer for a month.”
