Elkie is leaving CLC. After being out of the team after five years, she wrote her feelings down in a letter.
On the 3rd, Cube Entertainment said that its exclusive contract with Elkie was terminated. “We made this division after an amicable discussion,” it announced.
As her contract with the company ended, Elkie left the group, CLC. Started as a child actor in Hong Kong, Elkie joined CLC in 2016 and attracted attention with solid singing skills and a unique voice.
Elkie left a post last year which suggested the fact that she would leave. “For each and every promo, stage, and album, I always prepare with Cheshires (Fanclub name) on my mind. I also feel depressed at times, but I was able to overcome those times thanks to warm messages from Cheshires,” she said as she thanked fans. The singer also confessed about tough times in which she felt unsatisfied.
Cube Ent. stated, “Thank you to all the fans who have cared about Elkie. We hope everyone can encourage Elkie for her fresh start.” Elkie also said that her past five years have been filled with precious memories.

To my loving Cheshire,
Do you have some time to read this? I have something I really want to tell Cheshires. It’s been almost 6 years. Since the audition, I’ve debuted and had the opportunity to meet you all and now, the relationship between Cheshire and myself is very strong and our love is so precious to me.
For each and every promo, stage, and album, I always prepare with Cheshires on my mind. I also feel depressed at times, but I was able to overcome those times thanks to warm messages from Cheshires.
Once, I reached my limits and went on a trip abroad alone. While waiting at the airport after the trip, I wrote a post organizing my mind. But I was so touched that I couldn’t stop crying while reading everyone’s comments under that post. There are so many other unforgettable moments besides this.
Thanks to all the time we spent, I think Cheshires will know my personality by now, and how I feel. I always wanted to show you various sides of me so that I can share my happiness with you. I hoped that Cheshire would be encouraged and healed through that.
Unfortunately, there were many times I couldn’t do what I wanted to. I had a lot of difficulties walking down this road, and whenever I faced those inevitable situations, I felt so incompetent and frustrated. Though I wanted to show you more works, it’s not working out how I want it to. I’m so sorry and sorry again for not being able to give anything to everyone who waited for me.
I don’t think I’ve been a great artist so far. I should have at least worked harder for you, but I’m not satisfied yet.
So I wanted to do more for the people I love; to show them. So I thought that I couldn’t just let it be.
The last 5 years have been filled with precious memories. I hope I can do more in the future by using my experiences and what I have learned till now.
Thank you for always supporting and being by my side. I will make you smile even more from now on. I’m still Elkie who never forgets her start and always tries hard. I hope we can continue to hold hands together.
I have nothing to fear if we are together. Because you are my happiness.
I want to say thank you again to the members. Thank you for always supporting and loving me. Don’t forget our promise to sing and dance together even when we get older. I will always be rooting for you. I love you so much.
