The lineup for Mnet’s Kingdom is slowly taking its form. Kingdom is a follow-up show to last year’s Road to Kingdom, and the boy group version of 2019’s Queendom. It is a survival program in which male idol groups perform on stage to fight for the throne.

THE BOYZ confirmed their appearance as they won Road to Kingdom, as ATEEZ and Stray Kids informed of their joining through the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2020 MAMA).

As groups confirmed their appearance on Kingdom on the 22nd, attention was focused on the show.

First, iKON additionally confirmed to join the show. 7 years after their debut in 2015, the group faced a crisis due to the drug scandal of their leader, B.I. It is noteworthy whether Kingdom could be a turning point for the group.

Both BtoB and SF9 are under discussion. BtoB and SF9 are each 10, and 6 years in running since their debut. It was reported that their agencies have been proposed for the show, and are in consideration.

MONSTA X, whose appearance netizens were expecting, has decided not to join the show. Though Mnet offered a place, they chose not to appear in it.

Earlier in Queendom and Road to Kingdom, there were 6 and 7 teams, respectively. Kingdom is also told to be tuning their cast to be around 6 to 7 groups. If the previously mentioned teams all confirm their appearance, this means that most of the line up has been completed.

The host has been decided as TVXQ. Excitement is stirred as the Kings of K-Pop will host, and guide the younger singers.

The first episode is set to air on the 1st of April.
