(G)I-DLE made their comeback with their 4th mini-album I burn on Jan 11. Though fans showed their enthusiastic support for their idols’ comeback, Shuhua’s Chinese fanclub expressed their disappointment.
On Jan 11, Shuhua’s Chinese fanclub posted its official statement claiming that they will not be purchasing I burn albums because of the unfair line distribution. They backed their statement with a chart that shows Shuhua only had 4 seconds in the entire song.
They wrote, “We’ve been supporting Cube Entertainment’s activities and always participated in distribution for album purchasing for the group, but in the new song “HWAA,” Shuhua was only given 3.9 seconds of solo part and appeared 17 seconds in the music video.”
The fanclub then stated, “We believe that the company’s role is to reasonably plan out their help for the artists’ improvement. However, according to various circumstances, the company does not really care for Shuhua and has only reduced her solo parts. The Chinese fanclub hereby announce the suspension is purchasing albums, and we will only support Shuha alone until she is given a part fitting for her.”
After their statement also sprayed in online communities, Korean netizens showed their support, commenting, “There are six members and that line distribution is really upsetting,” “It’s not like ShuHua is terrible at singing. This is unfair,” or “This must be really upsetting for fans. I understand them.”
