The artist to start the year with a bang is no other than BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” DANCE PERFORMANCE VIDEO became the first K-Pop choreography video to gain more than 500 million views on the video streaming platform, YouTube. To surpass 500 million views in not only a music video but also in choreography video is a tangible testimony to BLACKPINK’s global popularity. The video set this record only after 183 days since its upload back in last July. There are now a total of 25 videos on BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel that gained more than 100 million views. BLACKPINK will be hosting a virtual concert titled ‘’THE SHOW'(YG PALM STAGE – 2020 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW)’ on January 31st which fans are no doubt excited for. It is also announced that ROSÉ, LISA, and JISOO are preparing their solo titles.

Coming in at #3 is NCT. 127, the popular sub-unit boy band group of NCT. NCT 127 has recently been selected by the United Kingdom’s Metro as having the best K-Pop comeback of 2020. In the ‘Best K-Pop Comebacks of 2020′ ranking posted by Metro, 20 talented K-Pop groups were selected with NCT 127’s “Kick It” coming out on top. The editor commented, “NCT. 127 stood out in a year when the girls served up the bangers slightly more than the boys, proving yet again this group is indeed limitless and can mold themselves to any game.”

ITZY, ranked at #5, will be releasing their first all-English album worldwide. ITZY, the famous five members girl group who debuted back in February 2019, announced that they will be releasing their first English album titled ‘Not Shy’ on January 22nd at 2 PM. The latest album will consist of the English version of their most recent hits like “Not Shy”, “WANNABE”, “ICY” and “DALLA DALLA”. ITZY also hosts weekly live performances on NAVER NOW titled ‘binteum ITZY’.

At #6 is SUPER JUNIOR who came out on top in the ‘Billboard’s 2020 Boy Band Battle’. In the ‘Billboard’s 2020 Boy Band Battle’ which has gone through five rounds of voting, SUPER JUNIOR faced the famous boy band group from England, One Direction in the final. After some fierce voting from the fans, SUPER JUNIOR came out victorious. This is their second time winning this tournament following their first win in 2018. SUPER JUNIOR became a global superstar with famous hits like “SORRY, SORRY”, and “Miracle”.
