SMTOWN LIVE Online Concert Takes Over the Globe by Attracting 35.8 Million Viewers from 186 Countries

The global music festival “SMTOWN LIVE” heated up the entire globe.

“SMTOWN LIVE Culture Humanity” was broadcasted free of charge to the world through various platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok from 1 pm KST on Jan 1 and garnered 35.83 million viewers from 186 countries. This is the largest number of viewers in the history of Korean online concerts, once again proving the global power SM artists hold.

In the opening video, Lee Soo Man, the SME executive producer, appeared in person and shared his passion, saying, “Music has no barriers. We can communicate without language, and it can be a great consolation and healing for each other. SM and I are trying to present you with such music.”

“Today’s free concert is to celebrate and celebrate the humanity of SM fans who are with us now. For the better world, let’s be kind, be humble, be the love,” he continued.

Soon, the 5-hour long concert was filled with the energy exuded by SM artists, including Kangta, TVXQ, Super Junior, Taeyeon, Taemin, Baekhyun, Kai, Red Velvet, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, SuperM, aespa, Raiden, Ginjo and IMLAY.

After the event ended, viewers poured out their praises over the high-quality performances, visual effects, and a lengthy duration, saying that they could have gladly paid for it.
