2020 SBS Gayo Daejun in Daegu will proceed with all stages pre-recorded.
2020 SBS Gayo Daejun in Daegu will be hosted on the 25th. With the motif of “The Wonder Year,” the lineup for the event is as follows: Jessi, NU’EST, BTS, GOT7, MONSTA X, MAMAMOO, GFriend, OH MY GIRL, April, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, IZ*ONE, The Boyz, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, ITZY, TXT, MOMOLAND, Cravity, Treasure, aespa, and ENHYPEN.
Regarding the festival, SBS explained, “as we strictly follow protocols for COVID-19, all stages will be pre-recorded for the safety of artists and staff.” This was a decision made to minimize on-site personnel and contact between artists. While they entered the pre-recording process at the start of this month, a majority of it has now been completed.
Private gatherings of more than five people, except weddings and funerals, have been banned in the Seoul Capital area starting on the 23rd. While level 2.5 of social distancing is allowed for the production of TV shows and movies according to the law, the mood for the end of year festival had already become somber. Consequently, SBS chose Daegu, a model city of K-Quarantine, to host the festival as they followed the protocols of health authorities by making it contactless and without an audience.
A lot of attention has been attracted as 2020 SBS Gayo Daejun plans to present extravagant performances of idols, including Henry and Lee Juck’s special stage.
2020 SBS Gayo Daejun in Daegu will be aired on December 25th at 7.30 p.m. KST.
