Josée, which made headlines for Han Ji Min and Nam Joo Hyuk’s reunion, has been pre-sold abroad ahead of its domestic release.
Josée depicts a story of Young Seok, who is about to graduate from college, meeting a woman who asks him to call her by the name of Josee and feeling special emotions.
According to the distributor on the 2nd, Josée was pre-sold in major Asian countries such as China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, as well as in the United States and Canada. In addition, Asian countries have confirmed their release simultaneously as Korea, proving their interest in the film. This is the schedule: Singapore (Dec 10), Taiwan (Dec 11), Vietnam (Dec 18), Indonesia (Dec 23) and Hong Kong (Dec 31).
Regarding Josée‘s pre-sale, an official at Clover Films, a distributor in Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia, said, “The reunion of Han Ji Min and Nam Joo Hyuk, who are rapidly gaining popularity overseas, is enough to excite movie fans in Asia, but above all, the heartfelt film itself guarantees us good results.”
An official from Taiwan’s distributor Long Hong said, “The original film was reborn with excellent completeness and sensibility, while showing the depth and diversity of Korean films well.”
