Netflix Confirms the Production of ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North’ Starring Jun Ji Hyun

The production of Kingdom: Ashin of the North, a special episode of Netflix’s Kingdom, has been confirmed.

On November 2, Netflix announced the production of Kingdom: Ashin of the North and confirmed the casting of Jun Ji Hyun and Park Byung Eun.

Kingdom: Ashin of the North is a supplementary story Kingdom and revolves around Ashin (Jun Ji Hyun), a mysterious figure whom Lee Chang (Ju Ji Hoon) and his crew faces after heading north to find the secret of “Saengsacho” (the herb of the undead). Jun JI Hyun, who made headlines for her appearance as Ah Sin at the end of Kingdom 2, will be leading the upcoming episode as Ashin.

Park Byung Eun, who left a strong impression as Min Chi Rok, the head of the Royal Commandery, also confirmed his appearance in Kingdom: Ashin of the North.

The world of the Kingdom moves up North and delves deeper into her identity and her past. What happened to Ashin, and what fate Ashin and Min Chi Rok are interviewed with?

Kingdom: Ashin of the North will be directed by Kim Sung Hoon, who directed season 1 and produced season 2, and writer Kim Eun Hee will pen this special episode to unravel mysteries related to the origins of “Saengsacho” and the true identity of Ashin.
