Actor Jung Jin Young’s directorial debut film Me and Me won two awards at the 2020 Fantasia International Film Festival.

Me and Me, starring Cho Jin Woong, is a movie about a detective, who was investigating a mysterious fire case, facing a shocking situation where everything about him has been erased and desperately trying to find his real self.

This year, Fantasia International Film Festival was held online due to the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. And Me and Me director Jung Jin Young was honored with the Special Mention in New Flesh Award for Debut Films, while Me and Me star Cho Jin Woong was awarded the Special Mention in the Cheval Noir Competition.

Me and Me, which was released in Korea this past June and was praised for its original and bold style and unpredictable storytelling, is drawing enthusiastic responses from overseas as well. Fantasia International Film Festival praised Jung Jin Young and Cho Jin Woong, saying, “Though he is a rookie director, his work was as mature as veteran directors’ films, and we were dazzled by the incredible composition and the humor shown in the simple setting,” and “We couldn’t take our eyes off from heart-piercing performances and actor Cho Jin Woong’s tribute to Hyung Gu, who had suffered terrible absurdity and anguish.”

Meanwhile, Me and Me was also invited to the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema.
