Upcoming drama Summer Guys has confirmed its main cast and is currently filming!
Korea Creative Content Agency chose Summer Guys to be their 2020 new media (short-form) project. The drama is about four young people who try to revive an old cocktail bar at the beach. The production team confirmed that the lead character line-up consists of CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin, Kwon Hyun Bin, gugudan’s Mina, and Lim Nayoung.
The drama will be directed by Heo Chan, who directed the Netflix drama My Runway and served as the assistant director for Bong Joon Ho’s Snowpiercer. He shared, “The successful casting makes it seem like the actors jumped right out of the script. I would like it if this lineup can be maintained in the second season.”
“Summer Guys” is like the Korean version of Coyote Ugly and Cocktail in that it shares key themes of youth, dancing, and music. The drama aims to show off Jeju’s natural beauty as well.
Filming began on Jeju Island on August 20.
