BLACKPINK has beat out Ariana Grande and Eminem, becoming the female artists with the most YouTube subscribers. They also now the fourth most-subscribed artist on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment, the number of subscribers to BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel surpassed 44 million at 9:00 a.m. on August 16 KST. With this, they have now surged past Eminem (who has over 43.9 million subscribers) to be fourth in line after Justin Bieber, DJ Marshmallow, and Ed Sheeran.
BLACKPINK is already the K-POP artist with the most subscribers on YouTube and the most-subscribed female artist.
The number of YouTube subscribers is one of the most objective indicators of overseas popularity and recognition. BLACKPINK has achieved such record in just four years since their debut in Korea and about a year and a half after entering the US.
Since the release of their new hit song “How You Like That,” they have been gaining 100,000 subscribers a day on YouTube, continuing their unrivaled streak.
The group is set to collaborate with Selena Gomez for their upcoming new single, which will be released on August 28.
