It is revealed that a fire broke out in Jukgul Island during the preparation stage of Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 5 shooting.

On July 10, the final episode of tvN’s Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 5 showed three members preparing to part ways with the island they visited for the past couple of months. Later, Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin got together in Seoul for after party. (Son Ho Jun couldn’t attend due to his drama schedules)

As they wrapped up their final shoot, producer Na Young Suk confessed, “There was so much garbage on the island so we called a cleaning company, and there was a fire.” He added that on April 2, a waste disposal company cleaned the island to prepare for filming, and a big fire broke out while burning trash without permission.

He said, “It was a big incident, and because we have the responsibility of supervision, it would be a natural step to restore it on our own if possible. We will restore the nature until the residents are satisfied. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain this to you guys and the viewers.”

Fortunately, there were no casualties. The production team explained in a subtitle, “After discussing with the residents, the Korea Forest Service, the Wando County Office, and the Wando Forest Association, we decided to follow the procedures for the forest restoration project starting next spring. Although we may not be able to return it to how it was before, we will work hard to restore the forest.”

Then they expressed their gratitude to the residents, saying, “We would like to thank the residents who generously allowed us to film in Jukgul Island despite the incident.”
