Rowoon is making headlines as the new “king of period dramas” after his successful return in the historical romance The Matchmakers.
The actor plays the role of Shim Jung Woo, the main character in the ongoing KBS drama. Jung Woo is famously referred to as “the most unfortunate man in Hanyang,” having remained single after tragically losing his would-be wife during their wedding ceremony.
One day, the king (played by Jo Han Chul) makes a promise to reconsider the marriage annulment appeal if Jung Woo assists older, unmarried men and women in the kingdom in finding compatible partners. Upon hearing this, he teams up with Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) and comes up with a plan to find suitable husbands for the three sisters of the Maeng family.
Meeting viewers’ expectations, yesterday’s episode 4 saw Jung Woo and Soon Deok’s mutual affection blossoming as they teamed up as matchmakers.
