According to Nielsen Korea, KBS’s new drama Police University started out with the highest viewership among all Monday-Tuesday dramas scoring nationwide ratings of 5.2 percent.
In the first episode, Yoo Dong Man (Cha Tae Hyun), a detective attempting to catch individuals engaging in gambling activities online, met with Kang Sun Ho (Jin Young), a high school student hacker. Kang Sun Ho has hacked into illicit gambling sites to afford his father’s surgery. And due to his shattered investigation, Yoo Dong Man gets demoted and assigned to a teaching position at a police university.
Kang Sun Ho and Oh Kang Hee (Krystal) met for the first time and signaled the beginning of their romance. Kang went to the gym where the judo game was taking place to help out a friend publically confessing his feelings for his crush. However, instead of helping his friend, he fell in love with Oh at first sight. Soon, Kang, who was struggling to decide on a career path, decided to apply for the police force after learning that Oh wanted to be a cop.
Meanwhile, Kang reunited with Yoo Dong Man, who had appeared as an interviewer at a police university at the end of the first episode and saw his crisis coming in the next episode.
