Ji Ye Eun and dancer Vata have officially confirmed their relationship—and his past comments about marriage and family are quickly gaining attention.
On April 13th, both of their agencies shared that the two stars, who had been friends, recently began dating. Both born in 1994, they reportedly grew closer through their shared faith.
Following the news, fans began revisiting Vata’s previous remarks about marriage and having children. In a past appearance on a YouTube show, he made his priorities clear. “More than my career, I want to get married,” he said, adding that he feels strongly about the value of marriage and starting a family.
He also spoke candidly about Korea’s declining birth rate, expressing concern and saying he wanted to show—through dance—how meaningful marriage and having children can be.
Vata didn’t shy away from specifics, either. “Holding my baby—that’s the best,” he said, joking that he needed to “work hard to find a wife.” He even left a lighthearted video message to his future partner: “Let’s build a good life together.”
Ji Ye Eun has also hinted at her ideal type in the past. On a recent episode of Running Man, she shared that she prefers someone with strong faith, saying she likes a “church-going guy.”
The couple’s connection extends beyond their personal lives. Vata previously choreographed “Milkshake” for Ji Ye Eun and Ji Suk Jin’s project group, and supported her during her Waterbomb Seoul 2025 performance.
Ji Suk Jin also showed his support, posting a dance challenge video with the couple shot nine months back and a simple message: “Congrats.”
Ji Ye Eun debuted in 2017 and has gained popularity through shows like SNL Korea and Running Man. Vata, the leader of dance crew We Dem Boyz, rose to fame after finishing runner-up on Street Man Fighter and has choreographed major hits like Zico’s “New thing” and Jennie’s “like JENNIE.”
