A Japanese woman who gave BTS member Jin an unexpected kiss during his fan event has been indicted without detention.
On the 17th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office announced that it had indicted a Japanese woman in her 50s, identified as A, on charges of forced molestation, filing the indictment on November 12th without physically detaining her.
According to prosecutors, A attended a “hug event” last June at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul’s Songpa district, held to celebrate Jin’s discharge from military service and meet 1,000 fans. During the event, A allegedly kissed Jin on the cheek without his consent.
Songpa Police initially opened a case and requested her appearance for questioning, but in March suspended the investigation, anticipating significant delays. A later voluntarily appeared before police, and after determining that the allegations were substantiated, investigators forwarded the case to the prosecution.
