Rowoon is enlisting in the military today and has said a temporary goodbye to fans with a striking new magazine pictorial and interview.
The photos released for Marie Claire’s November issue show Rowoon channeling his character, Jang Si Yul, from his recently concluded Disney Plus series The Murky Stream. Wandering through the nighttime streets, the images capture the lonely and cinematic vibe of his character.
Rowoon expressed deep affection for his final project before enlistment in the interview. The set of The Murky Stream was amazing,” he said. “It was a place where I truly felt respected and valued, both as Jang Si Yul and as myself.”

Looking ahead to his time away, Rowoon shared an optimistic outlook. “I’m really looking forward to my 30s and 40s, and I’m confident I’ll become an even better actor than I am now,” he said. “I believe that will happen because I’m so passionate about it.”
Rowoon’s enlistment was initially postponed after requiring a re-examination following his initial physical. However, he was later confirmed for active-duty army service. He shared a photo of his new military buzz cut on social media ahead of his enlistment today, writing simply, “It feels refreshing. I’ll be back.”
