Rising actor Choo Young Woo has claimed the top spot in Korea’s latest actor brand reputation rankings, outshining industry veterans Lee Jun Hyuk and Cha Joo Young who placed second and third respectively.
The Korean Business Research Institute released its February 2025 analysis, based on big data collected from January 13th to February 13th, examining 50 actors currently appearing in Korean dramas.
The complete top 30 rankings showcase a mix of emerging talent and established stars: Choo Young Woo, Lee Jun Hyuk, Cha Joo Young, Han Ji Min, Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Lim Ji Yeon, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Se Young, Jung Ji So, Go Hyun Jung, Lee Hyun Wook, Yim Si Wan, Kim Jung Hyun, Na In Woo, Park Gyu Young, Lee E Dam, Park Sung Hoon, Hayoung, Kim Jae Won, Han Ji Eun, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jin Wook, Kim Do Hoon, Keum Sae Rok, Kim Tae Hyung, Yeonwoo, Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, and Choi Tae Joon.
Institute Director Koo Chang Hwan provided insight into the top-ranked star’s metrics: “Choo Young Woo’s brand analysis revealed high scores for descriptors like ‘cool, solid, heartwarming’ in the big data link analysis, while keywords such as ‘meme-rich, dual role, Korea National University of Arts’ dominated the keyword analysis. The positive-negative ratio analysis showed an impressive 91.43% positive rating.”
