IVE’s Jang Wonyoung has sparked online debate over a brief interaction during a photo session at a luxury brand event.
On October 28th, Bvlgari held a preview of its exhibition at the Seongeun Museum of Art in Seoul. BVLGARI ambassadors Kim Ji Won and Jang Wonyoung attended the event alongside the brand’s CEO, Laura Burdese.
During a group photo session, Kim, Burdese,and Wonyoung initially stood side by side. Kim then turned her head after seemingly hearing directions from off-camera. Wonyoung called out Kim and gestured for her to move closer.

Kim and Burdese briefly switched positions, but staff soon appeared to give different instructions, prompting them to return to their original spots. Wonyoung looked embarrassed and made a polite gesture toward Burdese, who responded warmly. The three then finished the photo session with smiles.
A video of the moment later circulated online, drawing criticism from some netizens who argued that the confusion was unprofessional, especially with a global CEO involved. One commenter suggested that Wonyoung’s gestures toward Kim and Burdese could be seen as inappropriate at an official event.
However, many others defended Wonyoung, arguing that she was simply responding to directions from staff and had no control over the seating arrangement. Some also pointed out that everyone involved appeared comfortable and friendly throughout the interaction.
“She obviously didn’t decide the positions herself; staff were clearly giving directions,” one commenter wrote. Others called the criticism unnecessary, arguing that a brief mix-up did not warrant such a strong reaction.
It was literally just a misunderstanding and Wonyoung was simply following the instructions, which she also misunderstood. It’s not like she didn’t know that the person in the middle was the CEO of BVLGARI. The staff told them to move, and Wonyoung misunderstood the instruction,
