Another heartwarming story from V’s military days has come to light.
During a recent Weverse live broadcast, the BTS member looked back on his time in the military with his fellow members and shared a training camp story. He recalled asking trainees during a religious activity what baptismal name they wanted to receive, only for one trainee to answer that he liked “Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune and Lux,” making everyone laugh.
After the broadcast, one netizen who said he trained with V also shared his own story, drawing attention online. “It’s been more than a year since I was discharged, so I thought it would be okay to talk about it now,” he shared.
The netizen said, “On the day I enlisted, all the news was talking about the two BTS members entering the army.” He added that he was assigned to the same platoon as V. According to him, V later gifted the trainees Korean beef, saying they had worked hard during training.
He also shared a behind-the-scenes story from a Christmas church event. The netizen said V suggested they go watch a church musical together, adding, “Even though he covered his face so only his eyes were showing, everyone recognized him.” After the performance, V quietly made his way out, but when he waved at the end, the room erupted in cheers.
The former trainee also spoke about V’s role as platoon leader, a position he volunteered for. It was not an easy role, as he had to encourage the trainees while leading the group, but V led everyone with a positive attitude.
“He was such a kind and positive person. He was playful, warmhearted and really generous,” he added. “He had so much life experience and such a big heart that he felt like a great person and a life coach.”
V enlisted in December 2023 and completed his service with the Special Duty Team of the Military Police Corps under the Army’s 2nd Corps. Even during his service, stories about him donating workout equipment and taking thoughtful care of his fellow soldiers continued to make headlines.
