BTS is making waves beyond the stage during their North American tour.

On April 27th (local time), the El Paso County Commissioners Court in Texas honored BTS with the “Estimado Amigo” award, recognizing the group’s impact on the local community.

The county also officially declared May 2nd and 3rd—when BTS is set to perform—as “El Paso BTS Weekend.”

Officials credited the group with boosting tourism, strengthening community pride, and helping position El Paso as a major destination for large-scale concerts. They also highlighted the social messages and positive influence embedded in BTS’s music.

Brooke Underwood, executive director of El Paso’s tourism office, projected that the two-day concert will generate an estimated $75 million in economic impact.

BTS kicked off their “BTS World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ in North America” on April 25th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. After wrapping three shows there, the group will head to Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, where they’ll make history as the first Korean act to hold a solo concert at the venue.
