Single’s Inferno 5 fan-favorites Jo I Geon and Kim Go Eun finally addressed their “will-they-won’t-they” status during a joint appearance on a YouTube talk show on March 26th.
Despite their chemistry on screen, the pair officially confirmed they are not a couple yet, though they admitted to being in the “getting to know each other” phase.
During a segment involving a lie detector, Go Eun got candid about why she didn’t choose I Geon in the season finale. “I thought you were just acting, like you could turn your feelings on and off,” she admitted, though she quickly added that he did make her heart flutter.
The biggest shocker was when asked who she would pick if she could redo the show, she didn’t hesitate: “Right now, it’s Jo I Geon.”
The duo revealed that their journey post-filming hasn’t been a straight line. I Geon shared that after the reunion wrapped, they went on several dates and “exchanged many messages.” However, a personal misunderstanding caused them to ghost each other for a short period.
“We’ve cleared things up after the reunion aired,” I Geon explained. “We’re hanging out again and sometimes eat out together. Our relationship is progressing.”
In a hilarious moment, the conversation turned to EXchange, the popular reality show where ex-couples live together. Go Eun, who has expressed interest in the show before, joked that her actual exes would never agree to film it.
When I Geon playfully asked if she’d go on the show with him, she fired back with a wink: “I’ll only go if we’ve already broken up.” The comment sent host Lee Yong Jin into a tailspin, as it subtly implied they might be heading toward an official relationship soon.
