A rare recent photo of retired actress Shim Eun Ha has sparked buzz online.

Images circulating on social media and online communities on March 5th showed the 54-year-old star smiling in a casual selfie taken on an airplane with her husband, former lawmaker Ji Sang Wuk. The original source of the photo has not been confirmed, but it quickly spread across platforms with captions such as “Legendary beauty Shim Eun Ha at 54.”

In the picture, Shim Eun Ha appears relaxed in a loose T-shirt as she poses for the photo beside her husband. Fans quickly reacted to the unexpected glimpse of the longtime-retired star, leaving comments like “She is still beautiful” and “Please come back.”

Some also remarked on the natural changes that come with time, writing things like “She looks comfortable with age” and “She is incredibly beautiful for someone in her mid-50s.”

One internet user who claimed to have seen Shim Eun Ha recently in person wrote, “I saw her in real life and she hasn’t gained weight at all.”

Born in 1972, Shim Eun Ha debuted in 1993 and quickly rose to stardom through the drama The Last Match. She later became known as one of Korea’s defining “pure image” actresses through projects such as the dramas M and Trap of Youth, as well as the films Christmas in August and Art Museum by the Zoo.

Shim Eun Ha announced her retirement from the entertainment industry after the 2000 film Interview. She married former lawmaker Ji Sang Wuk in 2005, and the couple has two daughters. Over the years, she has occasionally appeared in the media supporting her husband’s political career.

In 2023, reports briefly surfaced suggesting that Shim Eun Ha might return to acting after more than two decades, but those rumors were later confirmed to be untrue.
