Bridgerton breakout star Yerin Ha is drawing global attention after Spanish media outlets were accused by fans of treating the actress unfairly in a series of promotional appearances.

The Korean-Australian actress, who plays Sophie Baek in the hit Netflix series, has quickly become a fan favorite. But in recent days, viewers have taken to social media to call out what they describe as “racist” and dismissive coverage during Spanish press activities tied to the show.

The criticism began after Netflix Spain shared a promotional image featuring Yerin Ha alongside co-stars Luke Thompson and Hannah Dodd. Fans pointed out that despite Yerin being part of the central couple, she was positioned off to the side with noticeable distance from the other two actors.

Similar concerns were raised about a press event where Yerin was seated at the edge of the stage rather than centered with her co-stars, even though her storyline with Thompson’s character is the show’s key arc.

Additional posts circulating online highlighted other moments that fans say show a pattern of disrespect. In one video thumbnail, Yerin appeared to be cropped out. In another interview, her name was misspelled, while a separate image placed a media watermark directly across her face.

Fans also noted that one popular Spanish Instagram account shared multiple photos of Luke Thompson and Hannah Dodd together, but none featuring Yerin Ha on her own, despite her prominence in the storyline.

As the posts spread, both Korean and international viewers voiced frustration, arguing that the repeated omissions and presentation choices reflect unequal treatment of the actress.

Neither Netflix Spain nor the outlets involved have publicly responded to the criticism as of now.
