Netflix has unveiled the main poster and official trailer for its upcoming film Pavane.
Pavane follows three young people who have learned to shut themselves off from the world, only to slowly rediscover life and love through one another. The newly released poster and trailer hint at a gentle yet piercing melodrama rooted in connection and growth.
The main poster immediately stands out with its photo-like composition. Mi Jeong, played by Go Ah Sung, smiles brightly—an unfamiliar expression for someone who has long hidden in the shadows to avoid the discomfort of others. Her warmth suggests the change sparked by meeting Yo Han and Gyeong Rok. Byun Yo Han’s Yo Han radiates energy with his playful grin, while Moon Sang Min’s Gyeong Rok, a former dancer now living a detached life, gazes forward with softness.

The trailer opens with Yo Han’s voiceover: “Love is an illusion. An illusion that your beloved is unlike the rest. An illusion that the feeling will last forever.” The line sets the tone for a romance that is tender yet edged with melancholy. Gyeong Rok becomes drawn to Mi Jeong after a chance encounter, while Yo Han—masking insight with humor—warns him not to approach her without certainty.
As Gyeong Rok grows closer to Mi Jeong, his feelings solidify, and their shared moments unfold with quiet warmth. Mi Jeong’s narration, “You called to me when I was buried in darkness,” captures her vulnerability and the meaning Gyeong Rok holds for her.
The mood shifts as Yo Han stands alone beside the darkened sign of their hideout, Kentucky Hope, his expression heavy with solitude. Gyeong Rok, holding back tears as he insists he is fine, hints at the unspoken wounds each of them carries.
Balancing sweetness with ache, Pavane traces a journey shaped by love, loss, and self-reflection. With its restrained emotion and quiet empathy, the film offers a gentle reminder of the questions about life and love we often forget to ask. Pavane premieres exclusively on Netflix on February 20th.
