Ha Jung Woo has confirmed he is dating actress Cha Jung Won, addressing years of quiet speculation and recent reports of a July wedding.
On the 4th, Cha Jung Won’s agency, Saram Entertainment, confirmed the relationship, telling StarNews, “It is true that the two are dating.” But the agency added that marriage plans are “not decided.”
Ha Jung Woo also spoke out directly. “There have been a lot of marriage-related articles today, but it is true that I am dating Cha Jung Won. And we are continuing a beautiful relationship,” he said. He added that the couple has not set a wedding date, saying, “We haven’t even tied the knot yet, but I am grateful for all the congratulations and interest.”
The actor specifically addressed rumors of a July ceremony, reportedly at The Shilla Hotel in Seoul. “The July wedding talk seems to have come from something my father said casually,” Ha Jung Woo explained. “It was more of a general thought about wanting a summer wedding, not something that has been decided.”
Earlier in the day, reports claimed Ha Jung Woo had been visiting wedding venues, citing comments made by his father, actor Kim Yong Gun. However, Kim later clarified that his remarks had been misinterpreted and that he had not confirmed any wedding plans.
Rumors linking Ha Jung Woo and Cha Jung Won first surfaced in 2018 after fans noticed overlapping clues on social media, including photos of dogs believed to belong to the couple. With no solid evidence at the time, the speculation faded.
Now that the relationship has been confirmed, the couple’s long-term romance is back in the spotlight. If the 2018 rumors were accurate, they have been together for more than nine years. Even by more conservative estimates, they have been dating for several years.
Reports suggest the wedding rumors stemmed from plans that were once considered but postponed due to Ha Jung Woo’s packed schedule. He recently wrapped filming for the upcoming tvN drama Mad Concrete Dreams, set to premiere March 14th, and has also locked in a new film project with director Yoon Jong Bin.
For now, Ha Jung Woo and Cha Jung Won say they are simply focused on enjoying their relationship—no wedding date attached.
