SBS hit series Taxi Driver has officially wrapped Season 3—and fans are already looking ahead to Season 4.
The January 10th finale closed out with a peak rating of 16.6%, capping another strong run for the franchise and immediately igniting speculation about what’s next. Since launching in 2021, Taxi Driver has become one of Korea’s most successful seasonal dramas, with Season 2 airing in 2023 and Season 3 following in 2025.
Season 3’s impact went well beyond Korea. The show topped OTT charts for seven straight weeks across regions, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Middle East, reinforcing its status as a global IP—and making a fourth season feel increasingly likely.
The cast, for their part, seems more than ready. Kim Eui Sung, who plays Rainbow Taxi leader Jang Sung Cheol, said he would gladly return if given the chance, adding that he hopes to deliver another round of cathartic justice. Pyo Ye Jin was even more direct, saying she would “absolutely” say yes to Season 4.
At the center of the conversation is Lee Je Hoon, whose Kim Do Gi has become the face of the franchise. Lee has repeatedly expressed his attachment to the role and has taken home top acting awards for both Seasons 2 and 3. Kim Eui Sung summed it up simply: “The biggest reason this series can continue is Lee Je Hoon.”
The Season 3 ending didn’t exactly calm the rumors. The final credits included the line, “Rainbow Taxi’s operation continues,” which many viewers took as a deliberate tease. Unresolved story threads and subtle hints about Madam Lim’s (Shim So Young) possible return only added to the speculation.
That said, nothing is official yet. SBS and the production team have not confirmed Season 4. As Kim Eui Sung noted, decisions depend on timing, logistics, and a lot of behind-the-scenes factors. Past seasons were also announced only after a cooling-off period.
Still, with three consecutive hits and a growing global fanbase, industry watchers believe Taxi Driver Season 4 may be less a question of if—and more a question of when.
