Mino was recently spotted attending a VIP movie premiere as he prepares to face trial over allegations tied to his alternative military service.
According to reports, Mino attended the VIP screening for the film Method Acting on March 13th at Megabox COEX in Seoul. The event was held as a special premiere for the film’s cast and their families.
Mino is known to be close friends with actor Lee Dong Hwi, the lead star of the movie, which likely explains his attendance. Still, the appearance has drawn attention given the timing, as the rapper is currently awaiting trial.
According to the legal community, the Seoul Western District Court will hold the first hearing on April 21st for Mino and a facility manager surnamed Lee, both charged with violating the Military Service Act.
The trial was originally scheduled for March 24th but was postponed after Mino’s legal team requested a delay, which the court approved.
Prosecutors indicted Mino without detention on December 30th last year. He is accused of neglecting his duties while serving as a public service worker at a facility in Mapo District, Seoul, from March 2023 to December 2024. Investigators allege that Mino was absent without leave for 102 days out of his 430 total service days and failed to properly perform responsibilities such as responding to public complaints.
Mino initially denied the allegations, but reports say he later acknowledged most of the claims after evidence surfaced showing he had gone out during hours he was expected to be working.
