Netflix’s hit cooking competition Culinary Class Wars 2 is facing mounting controversy after viewers claimed a major spoiler may have slipped through, despite three episodes still left to air.

In Episode 10, released on December 30th, the race for the semifinals intensified. During the two-on-two team mission, “White Spoon” chef Im Sung Geun and “Black Spoon” contestant Brewmaster Yun, clinched first place and secured the earliest spots in the Top 7.

That left 10 chefs battling it out head-to-head for the remaining five slots. Through decisions made by judges Anh Sung Jae and Paik Jong Won, Hou Te Chu, Jung Ho Young, Ven. Seonjae, and Roi Choi advanced, filling out most of the Top 7.

The final spot came down to a tense showdown between “White Spoon” chef Son Jong Won and “Black Spoon” standout Culinary Monster. While Paik Jong Won cast his vote for Son Jong Won, Anh Sung Jae’s decision was withheld—ending the episode on a cliffhanger.

Almost immediately after the broadcast, however, online communities began buzzing with claims that the result had already been spoiled. Viewers pointed out that in a previously aired Episode 9 interview, Culinary Monster’s name tag appeared to reveal his real name rather than his nickname.

Fans were quick to connect the dots, noting that Season 1 finalist Napoli Mafia similarly revealed his real name, Kwon Sung Jun, only after reaching the finals. That parallel fueled speculation that Culinary Monster ultimately defeated Son Jong Won to claim the last Top 7 spot.

Reactions poured in online, ranging from “a huge mistake” and “way too big of a spoiler” to “this completely ruins the tension.” Others pushed back, suggesting the reveal could be intentional. “This might be a deliberate misdirect,” some argued, calling it a possible editing trick meant to throw viewers off.

As of now, Netflix has not issued an official response.

Meanwhile, Culinary Class Wars 2 continues to dominate globally. The series—pitting underdog “Black Spoon” chefs against Korea’s most elite “White Spoon” culinary stars in a pure taste-based showdown—has topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows for two consecutive years. New episodes drop every Tuesday at 5 PM KST.
