The futures of NewJeans members Minji, Hanni and Danielle have taken different directions.
ADOR announced that “Hanni has decided to stay with the agency, following the court’s ruling.” As for Danielle, they stated, “We’ve determined it will be impossible for her to continue as both a NewJeans member and an artist under ADOR, so we’ve ended her exclusive contract today.”
The agency explained further, saying, “We held long discussions with Minji, Hanni, Danielle, and their families after the court confirmed the ruling on the validity of the exclusive contract.” Hanni chose to remain with ADOR, respecting the court’s decision, while Danielle’s contract was terminated because it was clear she could not continue in both roles as a NewJeans member and an ADOR artist.
ADOR added, “We plan to pursue legal action against one of Danielle’s family members and former CEO Min Hee Jin, who are primarily responsible for causing this dispute, as well as NewJeans’ departure and delayed return.”
Minji, however, is still in talks with ADOR. The agency stated that they are working to find common ground with her.
In the end, Hyein, Haerin and Hanni decided to stay with ADOR, while Danielle’s contract has been terminated. Minji’s future is still uncertain, and the full, five-member NewJeans will no longer be seen together.
