The action-comedy OK! Madam is officially back. OK! Madam 2 has wrapped filming and is locked in for a summer 2026 theatrical release.
The sequel to the 2020 hit, which won over audiences with its hijacking action and nonstop laughs, completed production in late December. After launching as one of Korea’s most beloved summer crowd-pleasers, the series is returning with an even bigger, bolder setup.
OK! Madam 2 follows the same family who once pulled off a daring airplane rescue. This time, they are invited on a luxury cruise ship under mysterious circumstances, only to find themselves swept into another unpredictable and dangerous adventure at sea.
Filming began in October 2025 and wrapped after two months of production. Original cast members Uhm Jung Hwa, Park Sung Woong, Lee Sang Yoon, and Bae Jung Nam return, joined by new faces Ryeoun, Park Jin Joo and Choi Sooyoung.
Uhm Jung Hwa once again leads the series, continuing her record-making run as the first female actor in Korea to headline a long-running comedy film franchise. Known for throwing herself fully into physically demanding roles, she shared her thoughts at the end of filming.
“It was physically tough at times, but thanks to such a professional crew, we were able to capture a lot of great moments,” she said. “I really think audiences will get a movie that’s worth seeing in theaters, something they can truly laugh and enjoy.”
Director Lee Cheol Ha also expressed his excitement about continuing the series. “Being able to carry on the ‘OK! Madam’ franchise was an incredibly happy experience,” he said. “Every actor, from Uhm Jung Hwa and Park Sung Woong to Lee Sang Yoon, Bae Jung Nam, Ryeoun, Park Jin Joo, and Choi Sooyoung, brought incredible ideas and energy to the set. We’ll do everything we can to deliver a truly fun film.”
Now entering post-production, OK! Madam 2 will open in theaters in summer 2026.
