Hyeri, the popular member of Girl’s Day and actress, recently splurged on an extravagant holiday treat, spending over 1.3 million won ($930) on a selection of high-end Christmas cakes.
In a new YouTube video titled “Reviewing 7 Christmas Cakes, Including the Famous 500,000 Won Cake from The Shilla Hotel,” Hyeri tasted seven luxurious holiday desserts, including one with an eye-popping price tag.
“I’m so excited to try these today,” she said at the start of the video. “I recently came across a 500,000 won ($360) cake. I don’t think I’ve ever had a cake that cost more than 100,000 won before.”
The cake she was referring to was a lavish truffle cake from The Shilla Hotel. Upon seeing it, Hyeri commented, “I don’t know if it’s because I know the price, but it just looks so elegant.”
So, how does a $360 cake actually taste? After sampling the truffle-filled treat, Hyeri shared her honest thoughts.
“It’s sweeter than I thought it would be,” she said. “The truffle flavor isn’t as intense as I expected. When you eat it, the truffle aroma is there, but it’s subtle, not overpowering.” She also praised the texture, noting the enjoyable balance of softness and chewiness.
However, she admitted that the flavor was a bit unique. “It doesn’t quite give me the ‘truffle in a cake?’ vibe I was expecting. The flavors are very well blended, but since I’m not a gourmet, it felt a bit too much for me,” she laughed. “But for anyone looking for something special for a special occasion, this would definitely be an unforgettable experience.”’
