TWICE member Chaeyoung will be taking a temporary break from group activities to focus on her health after being diagnosed with vasovagal syncope.
JYP Entertainment announced on November 21st that Chaeyoung was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. “She had been resting, but it was concluded that an additional recovery period is necessary after examinations and consulting with medical professionals,” the agency added.
As a result, Chaeyoung will suspend her activities to prioritize treatment and rest until the end of the year. The agency stated, “She will participate minimally in or regrettably be absent from future scheduled activities based on the judgment that her health must be prioritized.”
This means Chaeyoung will miss the upcoming stops on the group’s world tour, including performances in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
JYP Entertainment conveyed the artist’s feelings, noting, “Chaeyoung herself feels deep regret about this. She once again expressed her apologies to fans for her inability to participate in fan events and the world tour since late October.”
The agency concluded by asking for fans’ understanding, saying, “We are truly sorry for causing concern to all the fans who always send their warm love. We will do our utmost to support Chaeyoung so that she can return to her healthy self and stand before her fans as soon as possible.”
