Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representatives have responded to the allegations and media content released by YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, also known as HoverLab Inc., regarding his alleged past relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron during her minor years.
On April 2nd, Kim Soo Hyun’s law firm, LKB & Partners, announced that both the actor and his agency, Gold Medalist, have filed an additional lawsuit against Garosero Research Institute’s operator, Kim Se Ui, for violating the Anti-Stalking Act. The legal team emphasized that the YouTube channel had released Kim Soo Hyun’s private photos, videos, letters and messages, making a firm legal response unavoidable. They also strongly refuted claims that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship when she was a minor, calling them entirely false.

Garosero Research Institute Pressures Kim Soo Hyun to Explain 2018 Soju Date
Garosero Research Institute streamed a live video on March 31, claiming that Kim Soo Hyun went on a date with Kim Sae Ron in 2018. They also released a photo of him holding a camera while Kim Sae Ron appeared to be asleep in bed.
During the broadcast, the host stated that Kim Sae Ron’s family and lawyer initially believed Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference was meant as an apology and advised against releasing the video.
The host also claimed that YouTuber Lee Jin Ho had previously questioned why Kim Soo Hyun wasn’t facing criminal charges and had blamed Kim Sae Ron’s mother for her death. According to the host, Kim Soo Hyun repeated the same statement during the conference. He added, “Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Jin Ho are one team. I’m not afraid of a 12 billion won lawsuit,” and revealed that he had obtained five of Kim Sae Ron’s phones and four of her laptops.
Later, the channel released another photo, claiming it showed Kim Soo Hyun and had been saved on June 20, 2018.
Kim Soo Hyun’s Side Says The Kiss Photo Was Taken After 2019
Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team explained that the ski pictures were taken in 2020 during a group trip with Gold Medalist executives and staff. They also clarified that the alleged “kiss photo” was taken after 2019.
Regarding a widely circulated kitchen photo, they stated that it was taken in 2020 and had no connection to allegations of an underage relationship. As for the June 2018 late-night soju and karaoke photos, they acknowledged that those were indeed taken in 2018. However, they clarified that Kim Sae Ron had simply visited Kim Soo Hyun’s residence while on vacation, where his family was also present. They insisted the two were not in a romantic relationship then.
