Park Ji Hoon‘s Weak Hero Class 1 is back—and hotter than ever.
Originally released on the Korean streaming platform Wavve in 2022, the gritty coming-of-age action drama dropped on Netflix worldwide on March 25th, and it’s already taking the platform by storm. As of March 26th, Weak Hero Class 1 has soared to No. 3 on Netflix’s global TV show rankings, according to FlixPatrol.
The series follows Yeon Si Eun, a top 1% student who, for the first time, befriends Su Ho and Beom Seok—and ends up taking on brutal violence together with them in a raw, emotional battle for survival and justice.
Park Ji Hoon plays Yeon Si Eun in a career-defining performance, shedding his previous image for a much grittier role. His powerful expressions and immersive action scenes have led to glowing reviews, with critics and fans alike calling it his “breakout role” and a “turning point” in his acting career.

And the numbers back it up. Weak Hero Class 1 debuted at No. 1 in Thailand and Malaysia, No. 2 in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil, and cracked the Top 10 in numerous other markets: No. 3 in Korea and France, No. 4 in Spain, No. 5 in the U.S., No. 6 in Canada, No. 8 in Germany, and No. 10 in Italy—an impressive feat for a re-released title.
The series is now available for streaming on Netflix. And fans won’t have to wait long for more: Weak Hero Class 2, produced as a Netflix original series, is slated for release this April.
