The fun tvN series My Dearest Nemesis premiere episodes were pure joy. It even holds a striking similarity to the C-drama hit Love O2O. Stars Moon Ga Young and Choi Hyun Wook portray roles Baek Soo Jun and Ban Joo Yeon, respectively. In 2009, they first meet virtually in an online video game and form an incredible bond. Just like the C-drama, they team up in the game while getting to know each other.

Their first meeting in real life is unique to this K-drama by illustrating a shocking age gap between the main characters. Ban Joo Yeon (a.k.a Black Dragon in the gaming world) lied to high schooler Baek Soo Jun (aka Strawberry in the online games) about his age, and she was unaware that he was a middle school student. She considers their virtual relationship part of her dark past while he believes she was his first love. Following his confession and her prompt rejection, the pair part ways with emotional scars.

In the present day, Baek Soo Jun and Ban Joo Yeon literally crash into each other again when Ban Joo Yeon collides with her car at a stop light. Little did they know, they are about to embark on a working relationship as team leader and director under Yongsung Department Store. Bae Soo Jun even walks in on him changing his clothes in the office and discovers his secret black dragon tattoo. This was subtly sexy and comedic all at the same time.

Lim Se Mi plays character Seo Ha Jin and excels as a longtime friend of Baek Soo Jun. They have also known one another since their young gaming days and are now best friends chasing after their career dreams. Lim Se Mi is a culinary wizard, while Baek Soo Jun excels in an office setting. Kwak Si Yang takes on playboy character Kim Shin Won as well as Ban Joo Yeon’s close confidant. Kim Shin Won has a love-at-first-sight moment on the street with chef Seo Ha Jin. They will definitely be an interesting second couple to watch.

Following the run-ins with Bae Soo Jun and an embarrassing drinking competition, Bae Joo Yeon secretly swears to be her enemy and makes her quit the company.

My Dearest Nemesis is a diverting romantic comedy with enjoyable moments. From the comedic car bump to Ban Joo Yeon’s black dragon back tattoo reveal, this K-drama promises to be a delightful 12-episode ride that airs every Monday and Tuesday at 20:50 (KST) on tvN.
