BLACKPINK’s Jennie is channeling her romantic experiences into new music, offering fans a glimpse into her personal life through her latest release.
In a candid conversation on Hyeri’s YouTube channel on January 31st, the K-pop star opened up about her pre-release digital single Love Hangover. Describing the track, Jennie shared, “It’s somewhat R&B pop, not quite dance, but somewhere in between.”
The singer revealed more about her upcoming full-length album, stating, “My regular album comes out on March 7th. I shot quite a lot of music videos.” Speaking about the “Love Hangover” music video filmed in Mexico, Jennie elaborated, “I do some cute acting with my male co-star. Every time I go out on a date, I die when I fall in love. The lyrics are about that too.”
She further explained the song’s message: “7know it’ll be hard?” Adding to the intrigue, she noted, “I really related to it when I first heard it. I think anyone who’s dated and been in love will relate.”
Jennie has previously been swept up in dating rumors with G-DRAGON and BTS’s V. At the time, her former agency YG Entertainment maintained their stance of “This is the artist’s private life,” declining further comment.
Jennie’s first solo full-length album Ruby, promising to showcase her unlimited musical potential, is set for release on March 7th. The pre-release single Love Hangover dropped on various music platforms on January 31st.
