The stunning and powerful girl group BEWAVE, short for Blue Wave, is living up to their name as they have made endless waves since their debut in the K-pop scene in April this year.

The six-member girl group under GoldDust Entertainment debuted with the song “SING !” from their mini album BE;WAVE. Members Jiun, Yunseul, Lena, Zena, Ain, and Gowoon have already charmed the world and their experience as long-term trainees and appearances on TV shows like MIXNINE have given them skills to compete with today’s talented idol groups.

Now, the girls are preparing to promote their latest album and trendy song “Hard To Get To You” around Asia, with a current showcase set to be held in Indonesia. Before spilling more about the group, check out their exclusive video greeting for their fans LU below and our exclusive interview.

Q. It’s been almost a year since you debuted, how do you feel about your current success?

Jiun:  I’m so happy to make my long-awaited debut, but I’m not satisfied yet. To make it better, we’re preparing harder than before

Yunseul: It didn’t feel real when we debuted, but I’m surprised that a year has already passed. I’m glad that I was able to have fun every day because the members were there with me.

Lena: I’m happy that more and more people are supporting BEWAVE and I’m grateful to have debuted. We are trying to work hard in the future because we still have a lot of things to improve on.

Zena: I actually still have some regrets but I want to show our fans a lot more!

Ain: I was elated to see fans on stage after our debut.

Gowoon: I think there’s still a lot for us to learn as we grow! I can’t wait to show more of my various sides to our fans.

Q. BEWAVE’s comeback song “Hard To Get To You” has received a lot of attention. Why do you think the song is so popular?

Jiun: When the song was released, a familiar J-pop band sound was trending, and I think our song “Hard To Get To You” came out at just the right time. Of course, the song was really good, and I think it went well with our members.

Yunseul: It’s a song about youth that everyone can relate to and I think a lot of people like it because it’s a combination of cool and powerful dance moves and melodies.

Lena: I think they like it because we are good at singing this fun song live.

Zena: I believe because the song is good fans always like seeing us perform live on stage.

Ain: I think the addictive chorus is memorable, and at the same time, the choreography is good, so I think it’s popular because of these things.

Gowoon: I think our story of youth has touched and inspired the public’s emotions!

Q. The group concept can be very similar to G-Friend or Apink. How do BEWAVE feel or think about being compared to girl groups like these?

Jiun: First of all, it’s such an honor. We’re so grateful that we can go down similar paths together as theirs! We’ll work harder and become good artists like our seniors.

Yunseul: It’s an honor. We will try to grow into a group that can represent when we think of the concept of innocence and purity just like our seniors have done.

Lena: I feel it is not exactly the same feeling, but I’m young and I’m working on the concept of expressing pure emotions. I want to be a cool artist like my seniors.

Zena: I really like them, so thank you so much.

Ain: I want to say thank you for being compared to the seniors I respect. If there’s anything in common I think it is that we are doing a song with a similar vibe to these familiar girl groups. Like them, we’ll do our best to grow.

Gowoon: I’m so honored that I can even be compared to them. I’m so happy.

Q. Are you going to try a new concept soon or are you going to continue with your current main concept?

Jiun: I think BEWAVE is going to make our concept different this time. Please look forward to it.

Yunseul: Like our group name suggests, BEWAVE means, “We will show you various charms like waves that sometimes strike strongly and sometimes gently.” We are going to try various concepts with this ideal in mind.

Lena: It’s my personal opinion, but I wish I could show fans that BEWAVE has a little bit of an adult side.

Q. BEWAVE posts a lot of vlogs on YouTube. What are the girls’ most popular and favorite videos?
