On the October 2nd episode of MBC’s Radio Star, Choi Tae Joon gave fans a rare glimpse into his life with wife Park Shin Hye, marking the first time he’s publicly discussed their marriage.
Three years into their marriage, Choi Tae Joon reflected on their star-studded wedding, which felt like a concert with its impressive lineup of performers. “Because we’re both in the same industry, I find it a bit tricky (to talk about her). I mean, we both have our own projects, so I’m careful because I don’t want it to affect her focus,” he admitted.
Despite his caution, Choi shared a heartwarming story about their wedding. “Hong Ki, D.O., Crush, and even Lee Juck performed. Originally, Hong Ki was going to sing Lee Juck’s ‘Relieved,’ but when we found out Lee Juck was attending, we asked for his permission. He kindly said, ‘Why didn’t you just ask me? I’ll sing it,’ and I was so grateful.”
Choi also touched on the similarity in their looks. “In general, we have a lot in common,” he said. “Fans have pointed out that when you overlap our photos, our lower faces look similar. I hadn’t noticed before, but after seeing the photos, I think there’s some truth to it.”
When asked if he and Park Shin Hye frequently discuss each other’s work, Choi admitted, “We don’t really talk about work at home. We stick to household matters. Giving advice can sometimes sound like nagging.” He added, “I don’t read her scripts, but I enjoy watching her projects as a fan. Sometimes, people ask me about her next project, but I honestly don’t know. I just support her and hope it goes well.”
As for conflicts in their relationship, Choi was candid: “Of course, we’ve had our clashes. I have a T (Thinking) personality, and Shin Hye has an F (Feeling) personality. I tend to be direct with my words, especially with people I’m close to, and I focus on solving the problem.”
