2NE1 is making a triumphant return to celebrate their 15th anniversary.

At midnight on the 22nd, YG Entertainment announced 2NE1’s comeback via their official social media accounts. Sandara Park also shared the news on her Instagram, posting the group photo with the caption, “What’s up We’re 2NE1. WELCOME BACK.”

The group disbanded in 2016 following Gong Min Ji’s departure, and they released a digital single, Goodbye, in 2017. This comeback marks their first group activity in about eight years, and fans are eagerly anticipating their return. Specific details about their activities have yet to be revealed.

Yang Hyun Suk, YG’s executive producer, confirmed the 2NE1 project, signaling a fresh start with the original lineup. On YG’s official blog, an announcement titled “YG Announcement 2NE1 / 2025 YG PLAN” was posted, featuring Yang introducing the group’s future plans in a video.

The first step of this project is a solo concert. Supported by YG, 2NE1 will hold a concert in Seoul in early October. Plans for additional concerts in Osaka and Tokyo, as well as other locations for a global tour, are also in the works.

Yang Hyun Suk commented, “This concert will be special. The generation that grew up with 2NE1 and listened to their music will share memories. We will work hard to create a successful show with all our staff.”

On a related note, YG revealed aggressive activity plans for its artists. Yang stated, “2025 will see many artists active simultaneously,” hinting at BLACKPINK’s comeback and world tour, as well as TREASURE and BABYMONSTER’s global tour plans.
