Gong Myung and Weki Meki member Kim Do Yeon are reported to be in a relationship.
News Tomato reported yesterday that the two have been developing a romantic relationship. An industry insider said, “Kim Do Yeon moved out of the Weki Meki dorm recently, and the two have become closer.”
The two met as members of the same agency when they were rookies, but they had few opportunities to work together as an actor and a girl group member. However, it is said that they reconnected in 2019 while working on the JTBC drama Be Melodramatic. Gong Myung was a main cast member, while Kim Do Yeon made a special appearance in the 2nd episode.
Gong Myung debuted as a member of the actor group Surprise in 2013 and gained recognition through various dramas. He then played the youngest member of the drug squad detectives in the 2019 movie Extreme Job, which became a domestic box office smash hit with over 16 million viewers. He recently delivered a standout performance in a film titled Citizen of a Kind.
Kim Do Yeon debuted as a member of the girl group I.O.I in 2016 after ranking 8th out of 11 finalists on the Mnet survival program Produce 101. She re-debuted as a member of the girl group Weki Meki the following year and is currently working as an actress.
However, Gong Myung’s side denied dating rumors with Kim Do Yeon. An official from Gong Myung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, told Daily Sports today that the dating rumors with Kim Doyeon are not true. Saram Entertainment’s side clarified, “The two were only close because they were under the same agency in the past.” The dating rumors have thus ended as a misunderstanding.
