Bae In Hyuk talked about the unexpected dating rumors with his co-star Lee Se Young in an interview after the conclusion of The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.
The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract revolves around Park Yeon Woo (played by Lee Se Young), a Confucian girl coming to modern times beyond the time and space of Joseon in the 19th century. In modern Seoul, she encounters Kang Tae Ha (Bae In Hyuk), a cool-headed deputy CEO of SH Group.
Although they may appear to be of similar age, Lee Se Young started her acting career much earlier than Bae In Hyuk. He remarked, “She has a ton of experience in this industry since Se Young debuted at a young age. Before shooting the show, I was a bit anxious, thinking, ‘How can I get more comfortable working with her?’ But she helped me to be more relaxed on set. She’s a really friendly actress who treats me with a lot of respect, and that gives me much confidence. Thanks to her, I could relax and bring out my creativity throughout the filming process.”
Their on-screen chemistry fueled speculation about their romance. The two held hands while being nominated for the Best Couple award at the 2023 MBC Drama Awards.
The actor said, “The award was for the best couple on the show. Since we were there to celebrate the ceremony, I thought it would be fun to bring our on-screen chemistry to life. It wasn’t planned at all.” He added “I take the rumors positively and actually find them amusing,” with a laugh.’
