BLACKPINK Renews Contract With YG Entertainment for Group Activities

YG Entertainment announced on December 6th that they have renewed their exclusive contract with BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK plans to continue their group activities, including releasing new albums and going on world tours to share their love and appreciation with fans around the globe.

The renewed contract covers overall group activities, with discussions still ongoing regarding individual exclusive contracts.

A representative from YG Entertainment stated on the 6th, “It is currently under discussion,” regarding the renewal of individual contracts for the BLACKPINK members.

Yang Hyun Suk, the executive producer, expressed his joy in continuing the partnership with BLACKPINK. He stated, “We are delighted to continue our journey with BLACKPINK. In the future, we will make every effort to help them shine even brighter in the global music scene – not only as artists representing YG Entertainment but also as leading figures in the K-pop industry. We extend our unwavering support and trust in their endeavors.”

Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has solidified their position as one of the world’s most famous girl groups. They achieved milestones such as being the first K-pop girl group to reach double million-seller status, topping the U.S. ‘Billboard 200,’ and headlining major festivals like Coachella and Hyde Park – marking historic achievements in K-pop history.

Individually, each member has become a trendsetting style icon, influencing not only the music scene but also the broader realm of pop culture. The K-pop girl group’s official YouTube channel currently has a subscriber count of 92.1 million, making them the top subscribed artists globally.
