BTS’s Jin has shared news of his early military promotion.
Jin took to Weverse on December 4th and wrote, “Thank you so much for wishing me a happy birthday. I always celebrated my birthday with a live stream with the ARMYs, but it breaks my heart that I can’t do so this year. It’s been already a year since I enlisted in the military. Although much time is still left before my discharge, I’m already excited to be back with you.” He added, “And I can’t help but feel emotional hearing the news that the other members will be enlisting soon. I hope that the time will quickly come when all the members and our fans will get to reunite once again.”
Turning attention to the early promotion he earned, he shared, “I have something to tell you; I have been promoted once again with outstanding military service, and I am currently Sergeant Kim Seok Jin.”
In December of last year, Jin became the first BTS member to begin his military service. He then was promoted to a Special Class Warrior as a soldier who demonstrated exceptional physical endurance and mental fortitude.
Meanwhile, the music video for his first solo single, “The Astronaut,” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube around 11:08 PM KST on December 4th. This is the second time Jin has achieved such a feat after his other song “Epiphany”, released in 2018.
