Ok Taecyeon, who previously played a charismatic homicide detective in Blind, recently made an acting transformation in KBS’ new Monday-Tuesday drama Heartbeat which premiered on June 26th.
The actor takes on the role of half-human and half-vampire Seon Woo Hyul who failed to become human due to a one-day gap between 100 years. Woo Hyul is a character who wants to reunite with Hae Sun (played by Yoon So Hee), a woman he passionately loved in the Joseon Dynasty.
Taecyeon skillfully portrayed a dynamic character who no longer has what he enjoyed as a modern boy in Gyeongseong and finds himself awakened a day earlier by In Hae (Won Ji An) in the present day.
He said, “While I was reading the script, I felt that it was such a heartwarming drama. I am happy and excited to show my positive and cheerful sides after a long time through the character Woo Hyul. I hope you enjoy how vampire Woo Hyul strives to become human, and I also believe that many will be able to relate to what humanistic sides are, which the character gets to realize later in the show. Please stay tuned!”
