Park Sung Hoon reflected on filming death scenes for two major projects, Squid Game 3 and Queen of Tears, on the very same day.
On July 1st, Netflix Korea’s official YouTube channel released a behind-the-scenes interview in which Park reviewed the final scene of his Squid Game character, Cho Hyun Ju.
“Sharing Jun Hee’s (Jo Yu Ri) birth with the other two characters really created this strong emotional bond between them,” he said. “I think Hyun Ju felt a deep determination to protect the three of them—no matter the risk.”
Park also shared a detail from filming: “The director asked if I could shed a single tear before falling after the second stab—and I got it done on the first take.”
But his day didn’t end there. “Right after filming the death scene at the Daejeon studio, I drove straight to Jeongseon in Gangwon Province to shoot another death scene for Yoon Eun Seong in ‘Queen of Tears,’” he revealed.
He added, “I remember filming emotionally draining and difficult scenes both here and there.”
Park Sung Hoon plays Cho Hyun Ju, a transgender ex-special forces soldier, in Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3—delivering a bold and unforgettable performance.
