tvN gave a sneak peek into the first table read for The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch.
tvN’s new Saturday drama The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch is about the demon hunters called ‘Counters,’ who have become stronger by acquiring new abilities and members to battle the powerful evil spirits on Earth. Season 2 features the main cast members, including Cho Byeong Kyu, Yoo Jun Sang, Kim Se Jeong, Yeom Hye Ran, and Ahn Suk Hwan, with the addition of Jin Seon Kyu, Kang Ki Young, Kim Hieora, and Yoo In Soo. Director Yu Seon Dong, who directed Season 1, returns to helm the second season, and writer Kim Sae Bom penned the script.
At the script reading session, Jin Seon Kyu flawlessly portrayed the role of Joo Seok, who is both So Moon’s ally and a passionate firefighter. He skillfully navigated the boundary between good and evil, leading the narrative with dramatic tension. Kang Ki Young played Pil Gwang, an evil villain who absorbs the supernatural powers of the Counters. Kim Hieora portrayed Gelly, a pure embodiment of evil who kills for fun. Yoo In Soo transformed into Jeok Bong, a new face among the Counters, adding a fresh dynamic to the group.
The production team said, “Brace yourself for the intense clash between the strengthened Counters, now joined by new members, and the formidable demons who have grown more powerful by devouring their abilities. This new season promises to captivate viewers with its expanded universe and epic scale. Get ready for an exhilarating ride, and stay tuned for an experience that will leave you craving for more!”
The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch will premiere in the second half of 2023.
