IU, RM, LE SSERAFIM and More Join in Mourning the Loss of ASTRO’s Moon Bin

As fans continue to mourn the passing of ASTRO member Moon Bin, many celebrities are also expressing their condolences.

On April 20th, singer IU was slated to participate in a media interview to promote her film Dream in Seoul from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, just 20 minutes before the scheduled time, IU requested a postponement and offered her condolences to Moon Bin. A representative from the film’s promotional team stated, “We express our sincere condolences to ASTRO’s Moon Bin and pray for his soul to rest in peace. In mourning of his passing, IU’s interview will be released after the 24th.” The team also apologized for any inconvenience caused by the last-minute postponement and asked for understanding and cooperation from the press.

BTS leader RM indirectly expressed condolences to his late colleague, ASTRO’s Moonbin. On the 20th, RM posted a black picture on his Instagram Stories. It appears that RM expressed his condolences to his late colleague, ASTRO’s Moonbin, without any special comments.

The members of LE SSERAFIM also joined in mourning. They canceled their planned meeting with fans and the press before filming an appearance on JTBC’s Knowing Bros on the 20th. JTBC confirmed that the show’s recording would proceed as scheduled despite the cancellation of LE SSERAFIM’s appearance. It’s worth noting that Moon Bin had previously appeared on the YouTube channel @fearless_kkura, hosted by LE SSERAFIM member Sakura, along with his ASTRO bandmate Yoon San Ha back in February.

Meanwhile, EXID member Seo Hye Lin mentioned the sad news of the late Moon Bin at the press event for IHQ’s variety show Delicious Guys. She said, “I express my deep condolences. I will remember the passion that Moon Bin showed on stage” and “May he rest in peace.”

In addition, Cube Entertainment, the agency for BTOB, wrote, “We are temporarily halting content uploads and social media postings, including the promotion of BTOB’s 12th mini-album WIND AND WISH.” The agency added, “We express our condolences for the unfortunate news.”

MONSTA X members Kihyun, Hyungwon, and I.M also paid their respects to the late Moon Bin by visiting his funeral prior to their departure for the We Bridge Music Festival & Expo in LAS VEGAS event in the United States.

Numerous individuals in the entertainment industry expressed their condolences as well upon learning about the passing of Moon Bin. During the morning radio broadcast of MBC FM4U’s Good Morning FM Jang Sung Kyu on the 20th, Jang tearfully announced the tragic news, saying, “There was unfortunate news in the early hours.” He went on to say, “When I saw him recently, he looked so lively that it’s hard to believe what happened. May he rest in peace.” He appeared with Moon Bin in programs like MBC’s Surprise: Secret Room and SBS’s The Story of the Day Biting the Tail on the Tail.

Kim Ho Young, who recently appeared with Moon Bin on a web variety show, expressed his grief by posting a photo of chrysanthemums on his Instagram Stories, saying, “My heart is heavy. I’m sorry I couldn’t keep my promise to buy you a meal.”

Kwon Hyuk Soo, who appeared with Moon Bin in season 2 of SNL Korea on Coupang Play, took to Instagram to mourn the loss, writing, “I love you so much, I’m sorry, thank you, and I miss you. Rest in peace. #RIP.”

Comedian Kim Shin Young also expressed her condolences for the sudden passing of ASTRO’s Moon Bin during the radio broadcast of MBC FM4U’s Kim Shin Young’s Hope Song at Noon on the 20th. She said, “I heard such sad news. Once again, may the deceased rest in peace.”

In another show of condolences, Hong Seok Cheon posted a photo of Moon Bin on his Instagram along with a message saying, “I am so heartbroken after hearing the news last night. I was a fan and supported him, but as a senior in the industry, I regret not being able to do more for him. Rest in peace. I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry.”

In the meantime, girl group Billlie canceled its activities for the week to mourn the death of member Moon Sua’s older brother. Mystic Story announced on the 20th that “Scheduled events for this week have been canceled or postponed,” adding that they would provide additional information on specific cancellations and rescheduling later on. They asked for the generous understanding of the public regarding the situation.
