Jung Sung Il exuded his charisma in the new pictorial for Esquire Korea.

In the interview that followed the photoshoot, the actor opened up about his life and playing in the hit Netflix series The Glory.

Mentioning the many poses that the photographer asked him to do, the interviewer asked if it wasn’t a hassle for him, and Jung Sung Il answered, “I’m not so picky. As long as it doesn’t cross the line, I’m the type to accept anything without so much difficulty. But I do get angry – I’m sensitive to manners and sticking to the basic rules.”

“In the past, I was greedy for work, so I’d get angry if things didn’t go as I wanted, but as time passed, the things I enjoyed doing seem to be more efficient,” Jung Sung Il added. “Realizing this, I like being with bright people, and having those people around me seems to make me want to be a bright person for others too.”

When he guest appeared on You Quiz on the Block, The Glory star talked about his tough childhood – how he was raised by his grandmother and how he took on all kinds of jobs for his family later on. “As I hit my mid-30s, I could afford to be more relaxed. There are anxious moments, but now I think, ‘I’m taking longer to get ready. Then I can be more comfortable when the opportunity comes.'”

Jung Sung Il finally made it big with the Netflix series The Glory. And his role, Ha Do Kyung, was certainly not an easy role to play. “‘A nice bastard’ doesn’t really hit you when you first hear it. So we talked to the director a lot,” he explained. “Then this one scene really hit me and I finally understood – the scene where Ha Do Young talks to the driver on a rainy day. He tells the driver to take the expensive wine he got as a gift, and when the driver’s all flustered, he asks him, ‘What’s the problem?’ That scene was the writer telling me, ‘This is a nice bastard.'”
